What I Consider Before Renting an Apartment When I Travel

· 1 bedroom apartment,budget accomodation,luxury apartment SG,rent apartment SG

Travelling was my escape to work and real-life stress. Before the pandemic started, I had travelled to Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and other Asian countries. It was difficult for me to adjust to the new normal because there is a restriction for a wandering soul like me. I wanted to feel liberated as a bird flying over a lush forest. However, the crisis tethered me at home, where I watched travel vlogs in my free time.

As I watched travel vlogs, I felt the longing of the old ways pre-pandemic when I could book tickets anytime I wanted. While watching the vlogs, social media influences urged me to make my travel plans once the travel restrictions were over.

The first country that came into my mind was Singapore because it was the last country I was planning to visit before the lockdown. Of course, my plan included the budget for short term accommodation around Singapore, the tourist spots I will see, and last but not least, the food.

The Plan to Travel

I had many things in my mind because of the excitement. When I can travel again, I want to try a luxury apartment in Singapore. I read that the country offers multiple benefits for tourists because of their safety at night,  English speaking population, and rich history.

The fusion between Asian and Western Culture fascinates me to plan for a trip to the country. That's why the first thing I looked for was an apartment for a week's vacation.

So, let me share how I looked for the right place to stay when travelling abroad.

What I Consider When Looking for a Rental Apartment

As a travel enthusiast, the place to stay plays a significant role in the whole experience. How can you enjoy it if your hotel room at night is noisy? How can you appreciate the rental apartment if you need to travel for hours to buy necessities? So, the first thing I did was research how to rent an apartment in Singapore for travellers. I wanted the apartment to be in the middle of the city because the nightlife makes me excited.

Furthermore, here are the things I consider when looking for a rental apartment:

  • The Location

Singapore is famous for its busy city life. Yes, I wanted to be part of it and immerse myself in modern culture. So, I planned to rent a 1 bedroom apartment in the middle of the city. I want to know how Singaporeans commute in the morning, and I'm also curious about their transportation system.  Luckily, there is a luxury apartment where I can feel at home, even in a foreign city.

On top of this, I am planning to stay for a week, so I wanted to visit where I can easily purchase necessities, such as food and personal care.

  • My Budget

Budget is also an essential aspect when planning a trip. You should budget your money based on how many days you will be spending in a country to give you a tip. In my case, I wanted to stay for a week. Luckily, it's easy to budget for short term accommodation in Singapore. This way, I won't have to worry about paying for my room day by day.

The budget should also include the fees for my itinerary, including entrance fees for museums, bills for restaurant food, and the commute around the city.

  • Number of People

It's also convenient to include the number of people before I rent an apartment in Singapore. After all, it feels uncomfortable to share a single, small bed with a friend. Hence, I ensured who would come with me when travelling to estimate the room size we needed.

Well, I plan to go alone, so renting a one-bedroom apartment will be OK for me. But, when I went with friends, I booked a luxury apartment that could accommodate more guests.

  • My Social Preference

Whenever I go abroad, my interest is always about the local people. I wanted to know more about the way they live in the community. So, I looked for an apartment near clubs, markets, malls, or parks to meet new friends. Luckily, I found a luxury apartment in the buzzing city of Singapore. For sure, there are many locals who I can talk to when I need to know more about the country. Plus, Singaporeans can speak English fluently, so it won't be hard to start a conversation.

  • The Apartment Amenities

Finally, I looked for the amenities of the luxury apartment. Does it have laundry facilities, or does the apartment building open for visitors? Are there any gyms or pools? All of these are essential before I rent an apartment in Singapore.  This way, my travel experience would feel more memorable and comfortable.

I partnered with Great World Serviced Apartments for my travel companion because it fits my budget for short term accommodation in Singapore. Visit their website so you can also rent an apartment. Who knows, maybe we can coincidentally meet while travelling!
